First Lady Oluremi Tinubu and the wife of Vice President Kashim Shettima, Nana Shettima, have urged women across Nigeria to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
They made the call on Monday in Abuja during the inauguration of the APC Presidential Women Campaign Council, where Oluremi Tinubu urged women to mobilise support for the party from the presidency to the state assemblies.
The First Lady announced plans for six zonal mega rallies, culminating in a grand finale in Abuja, as part of efforts to mobilise women for the APC’s 2027 campaign.
She said various women support groups had been brought together under one structure, adding that the campaign council would promote APC candidates at all levels of government.
Nana Shettima also urged women from the six geopolitical zones to return to their communities and mobilise support for the Tinubu administration, describing 2027 as a time to “pay back” the President.
She highlighted programmes under the Renewed Hope Initiative, including scholarships, women’s empowerment and support for elderly people and persons with disabilities across the country.
The wife of the Kwara State Governor and Chairperson of the Governors’ Spouses Forum, Olufolake AbdulRazaq, said APC women were prepared to take the campaign to the states and the six geopolitical zones.
The Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, said the council would focus on uniting and mobilising women at grassroots level ahead of the 2027 election, describing women as an important voting bloc.
