Th Senior Legislative Aide to the Senate President on Media, Hon Nasir Usman Na’ibawa, has dismissed claims that the former governor of Kano state Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso has dominated Kano politics for sometimes now.
Hon. Nasiru Na’bawa, who was speaking in an exclusive interview with DCL Hausa, recalled how former Kano governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau defeated Kwankwaso in 2003, breaking the age-long jinx that no one could win governorship election twice back-to-back in Kano.
The Senior Legislative Aide to the Senate president said not only Kwankwaso empowered the youth, stressing that he himself did the same as a local council boss.
The former local government council’s chairman further reiterated that APC is intact in Kano and expressed the hope that with former governors Shekarau and Ganduje today in Kano APC, victory will be on its side come 2027.
Hon Nasiru Na’ibawa however expressed dissatisfaction with the way some politicians politicise insecurity, especially the daba menace.
He therefore expressed happiness with the steps Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is taking aimed at remedying the situation, even as he appeared confident that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf will fulfil his promise of ending water scarcity in the state in the next eight months.
Hon. Nasiru Na’ibawa therefore assured that nothing will stop Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf from cliching second term in office, reiterating that the same people who left APC and supported him to win in NNPP in 2023 are now back in APC.
He further said APC in Kano is fully ready and prepared to not only participate in 2027 elections but to also emerge victorious.
