Don faults Governors’ ways of executing Concensus

A university don and political analyst has expressed dissatisfaction with the way and manner state governors are executing concensus to select flagbearers for their parties ahead of 2027 elections in their respective states.

Dr Dukawa, who was featuring in a DCL Hausa political programme, Siyasar Zamani, accused the governors and party executives of advancing their selfish interests by prioritising concensus in selecting flagbearers.

The poltical analyst however, maintained that for a concensus to be valid, it should be involve stakeholders, with political partiesy streamlining the process.

The university lecturer further advidsed political parties to embrace free and fair primaries in the interest of peace and sustenability of democratic rule.

It would be recalled that recently the ruling All Progresives Congress, APC, has been enmesjed in concensus crisis, with many stakeholders rejecting the party’s decision in various states.
