Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, has donated 43 cows, 356 bags of rice and N12,500,000 to 43 Zawiyyah across the 14 Local Government Areas of Zamfara State to mark the Maulud celebration.
In a statement signed by Hon. Ibrahim Muhammad, Chairman of the Publicity Committee, Senator Yari urged the Muslim Ummah to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity and progress in Nigeria and for divine guidance for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration.
Blueprint reports that the distribution was flagged off at President Muhammadu Buhari Jumu’at Mosque, Unguwar Gwaza, by Hon. Sani Garba Gusau, Zamfara’s Commissioner in the Federal Character Commission.
He described the gesture as part of Senator Yari’s annual support to Islamic groups to enable them celebrate Maulud in comfort.
During the event, Liman Isah Unguwar Gwaza offered special prayers for Senator Yari and President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election, and for continued peace and stability in Nigeria.
Senator Yari, a former governor of Zamfara state, reiterated his commitment to the welfare of citizens and to supporting religious institutions across the state.
